How to convert Word to PDF

  1. Add your document

Drop a .docx file. Older .doc files must be saved as .docx first.

  2. Convert

The document is parsed in your browser and laid out again with Helvetica or Times on Letter or A4 pages.

  3. Download

Adjust page size, font and body size if you like, then download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Will it look exactly like Word?
No. There is no Office layout engine in a browser, so the text is re-flowed with standard fonts. Content, structure and reading order are preserved; page breaks, custom fonts, headers/footers, text boxes and floating layouts are not.
Which images are kept?
PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and WebP images are embedded. EMF/WMF/TIFF images (common in older documents) are skipped and counted in the summary.
Are accents and symbols supported?
Western European characters (Latin-1) work. Characters outside that range, including Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and CJK, are replaced because the built-in PDF fonts cannot encode them.
