How to generate a barcode
- Choose the symbology
Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14, Data Matrix or PDF417. QR codes have their own tool.
- Enter the data
The input is validated for the chosen symbology; retail codes get their check digit calculated or verified.
- Download
PNG at the chosen scale, or SVG for print at any size.
Frequently asked questions
Which barcode for a product?
EAN-13 outside North America, UPC-A inside. Both need a GS1-assigned number; the tool only computes the final check digit.
Is it free?
Yes, and generated locally with bwip-js. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I batch generate?
Not yet: one barcode at a time.
