Frequently asked questions

When should I pick 16-bit?
When you will keep editing: 16-bit keeps smooth gradients and room for grading. It always develops the RAW, since the camera’s embedded JPEG is 8-bit.
Why is the PNG so large?
PNG is lossless, so a 24 MP photo is typically 20–60 MB at 8-bit and up to twice that at 16-bit. Use RAW to JPG for sharing.
Are the date and camera details kept?
PNG output carries the pixels only. Use RAW to JPG to keep date, camera, lens and exposure details.
