Which compression level should I use?
Normal suits almost everything. Photos, videos and music are already compressed, so they are stored as they are whatever you choose.
Which password protection should I pick?
AES-256 is strong and opens in 7-Zip, WinRAR, Keka and The Unarchiver. ZipCrypto opens with the unzip built into Windows and macOS but is easy to crack.
Is there a size limit?
No hard limit. ZIP64 is used automatically above 4 GB; Chrome and Edge save big ZIPs straight to disk.
